Soccer is a game of goals, and players around the world compete to see who can score more than anyone else. But who has scored the most goals in club competitions? In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the players with the most club goals and explore their achievements.
One such player is Brazilian legend Pele. He has scored over 600 goals at Santos, his boyhood team, during his time as an active player – a record that has never been beaten. Another prolific scorer is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese ace currently plays for Juventus but previously racked up 450 goals in nine seasons at Real Madrid. He’s also scored 118 times for Manchester United and 83 for Sporting Lisbon combined!
Finally, Lionel Messi boasts an impressive tally too – 643 and counting – all for Barcelona since 2004!
Who has scored the most club goals?
This is a question that has been debated among soccer fans for many years. Who is the greatest goal scorer of all-time? Is it Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, or someone else?
To answer this question, we must first look at the all-time record for most club goals scored by a single player. While Ronaldo and Messi may be the most recognizable names in soccer, they are not the all-time leaders in goals scored.
That honor belongs to Josef Bican. The Czech forward, who made his professional debut in 1931 and played until 1950, scored an incredible 821 club goals in his career. That’s more than twice as many as Ronaldo’s 400+ career club goals and more than triple Messi’s 241 career club goals.
Bican, who played for several clubs in his native Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Germany, was renowned for his remarkable goal-scoring ability. He was known for his ability to score from all angles and distances, and he was also able to score with either foot.
He was so prolific in front of goal that the Vienna Wien newspaper declared him “the goal-scoring king”. He was also the first player to be recognized as the “top scorer” in four different countries.
So, while Ronaldo and Messi may be the two greatest players of their generation, it’s Josef Bican who holds the record for most club goals scored.
