Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are one of the most successful clubs in English football history, having won two European Cups, four League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups. The club has also won the Championship title on seven occasions.

Nottingham Forest were founded in 1865 and were originally known as Nottingham Forest Football Club. The club played their first competitive match in 1866, against local rivals Notts County. Forest initially competed in the Midland Counties League before joining the Football League in 1892.

The club had little success in their early years, finishing bottom of the league on three occasions. However, they did manage to win the FA Cup in 1898 and 1900. In 1905, Forest were promoted to the First Division for the first time. They finished runners-up in the league in 1908 and 1909 but were relegated back to the Second Division in 1912.

After several years of struggle, Forest were promoted back to the First Division in 1921 and went on to finish runners-up again in 1922 and 1923. The club won their first ever League championship title in 1924/25 under manager Cecil Hare. They also reached the final of the FA Cup but lost 1-0 to Cardiff City.

Forest enjoyed a period of great success under manager Billy Walker during the late 1920s and early 1930s. The club won back-to-back League titles in 1927/28 and 1928/29, as well as reaching three consecutive FA Cup finals, winning the trophy in 1930 and 1931. They also won the Charity Shield in 1929.

Forest were relegated back to the Second Division in 1932 but bounced back by winning the division title in 1933/34. In 1957/58, Forest were relegated to the Third Division for the first time in their history.
